Main Purpose of Role:
We are looking to fulfil the prestigious role of National Account Manager. As part of the role, you will be able to maintain and develop existing high profile Corporate Accounts. You will manage a portfolio of circa 20 strategic Corporate Accounts, delivering a high level of management to develop and grow business with Mortgage Brain and to maximise revenue opportunities.
The role will be home based with regular travel to both Bromsgrove and Croydon offices expected. Travel across the UK will be required, and this may result in overnight stays away from home. The role is full time and may not constitute regular working patterns usually expected with a 9.00 – 5.30 contract. We are therefore seeking a highly motivated, self-motivated, flexible, and successful individual who has a proven record of accomplishment in managing strategic partnerships within and across all levels of Account management. You must be an excellent communicator, high and regular achiever against targets and be able to influence potential new prospects to become valued customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with appropriate Head Office business areas to help influence and prioritise the Key Account business plans alongside the successful delivery of all Key Account development requirements
- Become the focal interface for the Key Account and Mortgage Brain and become the ambassador for promoting the relationship.
- Prepare professional business review documentation and agree financial aspects of contract.
- Maintain professional credibility with each Key Account relationship through knowledge of the Accounts business and marketplace.
- Actively promote allocated Key Accounts within Mortgage Brain, networking across all levels within the Account to maximise business opportunities by assessing key decision makers and business influencers.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience required
Sales and Commercial Management:
- Achieve targets agreed with the Sales Director for both allocated and new Key Accounts in terms of revenue growth by identifying opportunities to grow the business and enhance profitability. Remain commercially aware of current trading position.
- Work closely with assigned Key Accounts to retain and grow the business, creating effective communication channels with all client stakeholders, including business owners, procurement, finance and other senior management and directors.
- Identify and promote profitable new business opportunities and income revenue streams across each Key Account.
- Maintain and retain existing corporate Customers and secure extensions to current agreements.
- You will update and review the sales pipeline with line manager following the Miller Heiman process and with documented ‘blue sheets’ to work through.
Business Development and Account Planning:
- Ensure Key Account development plans for each client are continually updated with all current and relevant information, including mutual objectives and performance reviews.
- Retain and develop your portfolio of Key Account ensuring you have an in depth understanding of each Accounts objective.
- Utilise and analyse Account information to ensure business plans are implemented effectively.
- Undertake regular reviews of all business plans, keep up to date and where required evaluate the National Account risk to proactively work to avoid re-tenders by strategic action.
- Target and secure new National Accounts through your existing relationships in the Mortgage Intermediary Market including Networks and large intermediary firms.
Influencing and Negotiating
- Identify all major stakeholders across the Account set and create a mirror relationship approach across the partnership.
- Work alongside internal stakeholders at Mortgage Brain to help influence and maximise sales opportunities, achieve targets and support group profitability.
- Develop effective in-depth relationships throughout the organisation, Account Set, partners, and suppliers.
- Regular meetings with internal teams to ensure support in the smooth running of the overall Account relationship.
- Share the Account business plan, development, and support requirements with internal stakeholders at Mortgage Brain to help deliver Account objectives and targets.
- Maintain a database of key contacts and business writers and ensure sales contact and support is delivered across the Account set utilising the resource and expertise available within Mortgage Brain.
Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate and express views to all clients across the mortgage industry and at different levels of seniority. Presence on business social media sites. Networking.
- Lead, manage, develop, and drive the strategic and business relationship, up to Director Level, with a set of high value, national intermediary key Accounts.
- Proven ability to negotiate, influence and motivate at all levels, both internally and externally.
Analytical Skills:
- Confidence with management information analysis and problem solving. Good IT knowledge of Power Point, Excel, and Word.
Sales, Promotion and Commercial Skills:
- Excellent presentation skills on a personal, one to one and group level, negotiation skills, tact, and diplomacy. Ability to identify and act on opportunities to grow Key Accounts.
- Proven record of accomplishment of developing people, decision-making, innovation, motivating.
- Proven experience of managing, developing and coaching internal strategic partners and sales staff to achieve targets.
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to communicate at all levels.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in a senior position in the UK mortgage industry and previous experience working with mortgage distributors.
- Management information analysis experience.
- Previous national Account management experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of Industry software for both sourcing and CRM platforms.
